Woo-Hoooooo!  After two and a half months, my search for gainful employment is finally over.

On February the 18th, I started my new job at Structural Steel Products Corporation (no web site to link to), located in Clayton, NC.  They are a steel fabricator which mostly makes beams & girders for bridge construction.  They are a relatively small, growing company.  Since hiring me, the Accounting department has just expanded from two to three people.  I will be doing Payroll and Accounts Receivable.  There are actually three different companies with common ownership, with inter-company billing, which makes the bookkeeping a bit challenging.  Also, there is a lot to learn, since the steel business is a little different from the hotel business.

Now for the important part:  The pay is significantly (28%) better than my last job.  Also, I have my own office, and I don't even have to wear a tie anymore.  Overall, I don't see how it could be any better.

I took a few quick snapshots to show you my new workplace and co-workers.  Click on them to see a larger version.
My office.

My boss, Luise Kutsch-Barnes, CFO.

Stella, who does Accounts Payable.

Cathy, the receptionist.
(Is it Cathy or Kathy? I'm not sure.)

Blair, the HR Director.
